On May 21st, the second Jiangsu Development Conference and the 4th Global Wuxi Merchants Conference was held, with the theme of “focusing on high-quality development and gathering new Wuxi construction”. Li Xiaomin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of CPC Wuxi Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Wang Qinmin, vice chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Xu Zhongyu, executive director of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, attended the meeting. At the meeting, Zhou Haijiang, Chairman and CEO of HOdo Group, was awarded “2019 Wuxi Top 100 Private Enterprises” and “Wuxi Top 100 Outstanding Wuxi Merchants”. At the Taihu Business Summit of the Conference Forum, Zhou Haijiang also delivered a speech on "Mastering the New Era, Implementing New Ideas and Realizing New Development", and shared and exchanged with many experts, scholars and entrepreneurs such as Tang Yingnian and Xu Zhihong.

In recent years, Zhou Haijiang has been discussing the essence of Wuxi merchants. He believes that the essence of Wuxi merchants is mainly three unity of opposites, including the unity of opposites between profit and justice, the unity of opposites between humility and competition, and the unity of opposites between honesty and flexibility. Regarding the future opportunities of Wuxi merchants, he believes that at least three major opportunities for domestic demand market, technological innovation and capital market can be seized.
